OHIO VOTES TUESDAY TO REPEAL ANTI-UNION LAWS IN BEGINNING OF THE AGE OF ORGANIZED AMERICAN WORKERS MAKING A COMEBACK

This Tuesday, November 8th, 2012, will mark the beginning of the reversal of fortunes for American Unions, which had been on the decline for years.  Republicans in several States, namely Wisconsin and Ohio, in an attempt to accelerate the complete demise of Unions, have now brought the attention and sympathy of even non-union families to this issue and instead of fulfilling their goal, they have brought on the opposite: the beginning of the resurgence of Union organizing in the U.S.

SIMPLE ECONOMICS TEST FOR DETERMINING YOUR POLITICAL PERSUASION

If you believe that the more money you let flow to the richest Americans, by way of tax cuts, subsidies or no regulations, will create a better economy because the more money rich people have they will invest in companies and create jobs, then that is one point for being Republican.  This is called trickle-down economics and part of what is called laissez-faire economic policies, which means the Federal Government should not intervene in company practices at all.  The Bush tax cuts were intended to do that and his policies were also laissez-faire until they needed bail-out

WURSTFEST, NEW BRAUNFELS AND CHICANOS: NOT ALWAYS A GOOD MIX

Part of our politics here at CCM might be shaped by certain events which this author experienced personally, not that long ago, in New Braunfels, Texas.  The internal fight is to keep from allowing any of those experiences to translate into a personal bitterness that skews our political articles into oblivion, but then I remember that what this Chicano experienced is what many Chicanos lived and in many cases much, much worse, which is what distinguishes us from other Latinos.  We don’t hang on to the name Chicano because we don’t know that we are Americans of Mexican descent, it’s because

SCORE VICTORY FOR OCCUPY MOVEMENT, BANKS CANCEL MONTHLY DEBIT CARD CHARGE

So much for those who said that the Occupy Movement  was not focused enough or that their demands were not clear enough.  It was that global movement that helped to shine a bright light on the banks stealthy move to start charging five bucks a month to each of its’ customers for the use of their own money via their debit cards.  It is highly doubtful that without the daily attention that was brought to this issue because of the

NO-REFERENDUM DECISION ON BAILOUT SHUTS THE GREEK PEOPLE OUT OF VOTE ON IMF REQUIRED HIGHER TAXES AND PRICES

Prime Minister Papandreou of Greece immediately got the ire of the Global Financial World when he decided a very novel thing these days in politics, he would ask the people of Greece what they thought of the bailout money being offered by the European Union (the EU) via the International Monetary Fund (the IMF), especially since it contains requirements that taxes be raised on the people, that the prices of certain commodities also be raised, pay cuts for workers and new property taxes.  These drastic measures aimed at saving Greece’s economy, but perceived to be on the ba

KIM KARDASHIAN GETS TWENTY MILLION BUCKS TO FAKE A MARRIAGE

We have no doubt that Kim Kardashian knew the minute that she said, “I do”, that she really didn’t mean it.  Who wouldn’t get married to make roughly twenty million dollars? Actually the figure goes much higher because she has already pocketed that amount, however still out there are the interviews about what happened, not only from her but from her siblings and mother.  She is probably writing a book about the entire sham marriage, although she won’t admit it was, and will later cash that in as well.

IT’S POPULAR TO HATE POLITICS: BUT BEWARE THE PRICE OF NON-INVOLVEMENT

Everywhere people are asked about Politics and their political persuasion, most people reply, thinking that it’s cool, that they hate politics or don’t give a damn because all politicians are corrupt. You can look on Facebook, Twitter or other social media and find over and over people reluctant to take a position or to even acknowledge the importance of politics. Facebook has more of these people than Twitter, for I hardly found mention of the Occupy Movement on Facebook, meanwhile on Twitter it was almost simulcast.

CAIN’S SEXUAL HARASSMENT WOES

You hear Rush Limbaugh saying that this story is brought by the left-wing media, however more vetted and better sourced the story could not have been.  You compare the stories that run on Fox News that end up disappearing after other media and people begin scrutinizing them and you can see the difference with the Cain sexual harassment story, because instead of going away it is beginning to escalate.  That could be because of the gravity of the story, which we do not know yet or it could be based on the fact that Cain denied everything at first and then has been dribbling admissions every d

W: THE WORST PRESIDENT IN HISTORY

It seems we have amnesia about recent history: before W left office the Nation was losing 750,000 jobs a month even though he gave millionaires and billionaires, the so-called job creators, a huge tax cut that is still in place.  He started two wars and kept the cost of both of them, billions of dollars, off of the accounting books, leaving Obama to have to put them on the ledger.  One of the wars he started was criminal, based on lies to the World about the existence of weapons of mass destruction and the fairy

OCCUPY WALL STREET PROTEST: MASSES AT END OF ROPE WITH CAPITALISM RUN AMUCK

“Capitalism is the astounding belief that the most wickedest of men will do the most wickedest of things for the greatest good of everyone”, as stated by John Maynard Keynes, an English economist whose theories are subscribed to by many governments, seems to be the best way to describe the conflict on Wall Street.  The adage, “don’t hate the players, hate the game”, we think may apply to the “Occupy” protests.  The Capitalist System of the USA is what we have subscribed to since the beginning of the Country.
